Question 1

What are the Etsy jewelry photo requirements?

Accepted Answer

Etsy recommends images at least 2,000 pixels on the shortest side so zoom works. Use JPG or PNG, keep one aspect ratio across the listing, and make your first image square or landscape with a little space around the piece.

Question 2

How many photos should an Etsy jewelry listing have?

Accepted Answer

Most Etsy jewelry listings need 7 to 10 photos, even though Etsy allows up to 20. Add more only when they show variants, new angles, or details missing elsewhere. A weak photo added to fill a slot can hurt trust.

Question 3

What photos should I include in an Etsy jewelry listing?

Accepted Answer

Include a clear main photo, an on-model shot, a size reference, a close-up, the back and clasp, variants, and packaging. This simple order answers buyer questions as they ask them and builds trust before buyers ever need to message you.

Question 4

How do I photograph jewelry for Etsy with a phone?

Accepted Answer

Shoot beside a large window out of direct sun, and soften the light with a white sheet. Use the main camera, steady the phone on a tripod, tap to focus on the stone, and wipe the lens and piece first.

Question 5

How do I photograph rings for Etsy?

Accepted Answer

Take a top view, a side view, and one worn shot with relaxed, clean hands. Show the band width from the side and the setting height from above, since buyers often ask about both before they decide to buy it.

Question 6

How do I photograph necklaces for Etsy?

Accepted Answer

Lay the whole chain in a gentle curve on a smooth surface, or show it on a bust or model so the drop is clear. Add a pendant close-up, a worn length shot, and a view of the closed clasp.

Question 7

How can I make Etsy jewelry photos look professional?

Accepted Answer

Use soft, diffused window light, a plain background, and the same setup for every listing. Keep props minimal, check metal color against the real piece in daylight, and make sure stones show their cut instead of looking dull and flat.

Question 8

Can I use AI for Etsy jewelry photography?

Accepted Answer

Yes, but Etsy asks sellers to disclose AI-generated images, a rule that began in early 2026. Check the current policy first, match the real piece closely, keep one unedited photo in the listing, and disclose it if you are unsure.

Question 9

Why does metal color accuracy matter in Etsy jewelry photos?

Accepted Answer

Wrong metal color leads to returns and disappointed reviews. Gold that looks orange or silver that looks grey makes buyers doubt your listing. Use soft diffused light, set white balance, and compare the photo with the real piece in daylight.

Question 10

Do I need a size reference photo in my Etsy jewelry listing?

Accepted Answer

Yes, a size reference helps because vague sizes make buyers hesitate. Place the piece next to a coin, fingertip, or ruler, or show it worn on a model, and add a graphic with pendant height, chain length, or band width.
